You never run out of jokes to crack in the comment section, essay assignments don’t scare you off, and you’re the most persuasive one in your crew.
Copywriters handle all the writing in advertising, creating commercial scripts, social media posts and anywhere else you’ll find words. They partner with an Art Director to develop ideas and make them a reality. If you love writing, have a wild imagination and are creatively driven, you could be a Copywriter.
Your IG grid is fire, every notebook you own is covered in sketches, and you spend far too much time picking out your outfit in the morning.
Art directors are in charge of all things visual in advertising, from picking out fonts and color palettes to taking charge at a photoshoot for a social media campaign. They work with the Copywriter to come up with killer ideas and bring them to life. If you’re driven by art, design and creativity, this role could be made for you.
You’re a natural problem solver, you love thinking about how other people think, and you’re up to date on all things trending.
Strategists are the ad agency’s go-to for finding the human insights that make the ads really connect with people. They’re on top of what’s hot and are always looking for new ways to connect a brand with its customers. If you have a knack for understanding human behavior, you could be an advertising Strategist.
On group projects, you’re the one picked to present to class. You have an inherent knack for business, you can make friends with anyone you meet, and you’re a clear and concise communicator.
Account managers are the line of communication between the ad agency and the client. They take what the clients ask for, translate that into a clear plan of action for the agency, and make sure the team delivers. If you have a wide variety of interests, are uber-organized, and love taking the reins on projects, Account Management could be your thing.
You’re equally comfortable thinking creatively and logically, you love getting in the minds of other people, and you’re able to make numbers tell a story.
Media Planners are in charge of taking the creative output of the agency and putting it out in the world for people to see and interact with. They understand how and when the audience interacts with their world — what they look at on their phone, what TV shows they’re watching and everything they’re into. If you’re both right and left brained, you could be a Media Planner.
You’re always on top of the latest social media trends, you love to experiment with the newest technology, and you’re plugged in to what’s hot in pop culture.
Social Media Strategists plan and execute content for their clients’ social media platforms, like Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and TikTok. They use data to identify target audiences and create posts and content to maximize exposure and engagement. If you love staying on top of the latest social trends, Social Media Strategist might be a great fit.
